Mark Medlin, Board President/Chairman

Mr. Medlin is the owner of Medlin Ramps, a 25-year-old steel manufacturing company in the material handling industry. As CEO, he oversees all Sales and Marketing Divisions.  Under his leadership, Medlin Ramps has experienced great success, and in 2015 became the first US manufacturer of steel yard ramps with multiple manufacturing locations across the United States.  Mark serves as a consultant to other business owners, and strives to live a Christ-centered life by serving others.  Mark also served as the PTF President at Heights Christian Schools, Bluefield Campus for the five years.

Sports have always played an important role in Mark’s life.  A graduate of St. John Bosco High School, Mark attended the University of Texas El Paso on a football scholarship.  During college, Mark was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletics (FCS) organization. Mark discovered early on that he has a passion for sports and coaching; he enjoys teaching players how to accomplish great things with hard work and dedication while loving the sport they are in. Mark has coached for both Heights Christian Schools and Whittier Christian High School. 

Mark resides in La Mirada with his amazing wife of 20 years, Jennifer, their two daughters, Lauren and Brooke, and 3-year-old golden retrievers, Bosco and Roxy.  Daughter Lauren attends Whittier Christian High School; Brooke attends Heights Christian School, Bluefield Campus.

Kristin Lipiz, Vice President

Kristin Lipiz has been a practicing speech language pathologist for the past 20+ years. After graduating with her Masters Degree from Cal State Fullerton, she began her career as a medical speech language pathologist. She spent 7 years working in the hospital setting treating adults who had suffered a brain injury. After having her son, Kristin changed her specialty and became a pediatric speech language pathologist. She has worked for the Fullerton School District for the past 15 years. Kristin has specialized in working with students that have been diagnosed with severe cognitive deficits, autism, articulation/phonological disorders, social language deficits, and receptive and expressive language disorders.  Kristin takes great pride in the success she has achieved in helping these students return to general education and "graduate" from speech therapy.  In addition to her full time position with Fullerton, Kristin has a private practice in which she provides families an affordable opportunity to receive speech services. Kristin is passionate about what she does and feels blessed to be given the opportunity to serve students and families with God's chosen gifts for her. 

Kristin lives in Brea and is married to her best friend, Del.  She has an adult daughter, Analiese, a teenage son, Kolby and two beautiful granddaughters.  Kristin’s son, Kolby, attended a Heights Christian School campus from preschool through 8th grade.  HCS has played a significant role in the life of Kristin and her family, helping them to become closer to God and stronger in their Christian faith.

Gary Fisher, Treasurer

Mr. Fisher spent most of career working as an engineer and manager on the Space Shuttle Program for The Boeing Corporation. The highlight of his career was giving the Boeing “Go” for several launches at the Kennedy Space Center. With the end of that program he accepted a position of adjunct professor of engineering at Biola University where he is also the Advisor to the engineering students. He has been on the Board for HCS for many years.

Gary is married and has two grown daughters and a son, and grandchildren. All his children attend(ed) local Christian Schools. He attends church in Whittier. He enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, puttering around the home, reading, mountain-biking and occasionally taking his ATV to the desert.

Adam Morris, Member at Large

Mr. Morris has devoted his career to working in Christian college advancement and has received widespread recognition for his involvement in the non-profit sector and is now the Vice President for Advancement at Biola University. He graduated from Biola University in 1990 with a B.S. in Business Administration. He received his M.A. ('97) in Theology and his Ph.D. ('02) in Christian Education from Talbot School of Theology.

Adam began working for Biola in 1990 as Annual Fund Manager/Director. He has also served in the positions of Campaign Director, Director of Major and Planned Gifts and Senior Director of Stewardship and Resource Development. In 1989, Adam received the Southern California Carnation Award for outstanding leadership in fundraising and volunteerism. He also received recognition from former President George H. W. Bush and was granted a national "Point of Light" award for his significant service to the community. Adam has been a contributing author to several publications in the field of fundraising and biblical stewardship and serves on a variety of non-profit boards.

Adam lives in Orange County with his wife, Faith, and has four teenage children, Caleb, Joshua, Hannah and Emilie.

Brian Wilson, Member at Large

Brian was born, raised and educated in Scotland, earning a Diploma in Management Studies from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.  After spending the early part of his career owning and operating a small commercial real estate business, Brian sensed a calling to pursue formal bible study to be better equipped for future ministry opportunities. 

A short time later, after moving from Scotland with his wife and family, Brian commenced seminary studies at Talbot School of Theology in Southern California where he earned a Master of Divinity.  Following a brief return to Scotland Brian returned to the USA in 2008 and served in a pastoral position at a local church.  Brian is currently working at Biola University as the Developer of the Biola Church Project.

Brian and his wife Heather have four children – all Heights alumni – and in his free time he enjoys golfing, being in the mountains, and talking and laughing over dinner with family and friends.

Claud Lamar, HCS President and CEO

Claud Lamar came to FRM and Heights Christian Schools in 1999 with experience in Christian school administration and business management. He received his B.B.A. in Finance from Kennesaw State University in Marietta, Georgia and did his graduate work in Finance at the California State University at Los Angeles and his graduate work in Education at the University of Phoenix. Claud has been involved in Christian Education since 1991 holding positions as a classroom teacher, athletic director, assistant principal, and assistant superintendent. Prior to his time in Christian Education, Claud worked in financial planning, banking, and business management.

Claud and Marcella have been married for more than thirty years and have two grown sons, Brian and James, who both attended Christian schools. Claud and Marcella live in Whittier, attend church in La Mirada and enjoy their dogs, swimming and backpacking.

Kelly Beckert, HCS Superintendent of Schools

Kelly Beckert joined the ministry of FRM in 2001, having served in Christian education since 1986. With more than 25 years of experience, Mrs. Beckert's resume includes classroom teacher, mentor teacher, staff development coordinator, accreditation coordinator, Vice Principal, and Director of Curriculum and Instruction. In 2008, Mrs. Beckert assumed the role of Superintendent of Schools, providing administrative oversight to the Junior High, Elementary and Preschool campuses. Mrs. Beckert has been married for over thirty years, and enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and two adult children. Mrs. Beckert is also an active member of her church and enjoys serving in the children’s ministries department.
